Started learning drawing and sketching since age five, and continued into an Art school in college majoring in oil painting, Mr. Sam Zhao has been a dedicated artist that enjoys exploring the world of arts as a means of demonstrating his love for life.
He has been an active member of several art groups including American impressionist Society, Oil painters of American, Portrait Society of America, Newton Art Association and Cambridge Art Association. His works are among figures, landscapes and still life, featuring both realistic style and a strong influence of impressionism. His works bring harmony, joy as well as visual excitement to a wide range of audiences. Mr. Sam Zhao's work can be found in private collections and art exhibits throughout the US and internationally.
Mr. Sam Zhao is also a well-respected arts teacher and mentor through his art studio in Newton, serving students and adult learners from the greater Boston area as well as neighboring states. His students have won prizes with various art competitions in North America. He's also a committed local community volunteer and contributor through community events, annual charity auctions, and notably his series of workshops on western art history, genres, artists and masterpieces, which have attracted a large audience and helped spread the love of arts among people from all walks of life.
